Peer Educator

Peer Education is Girlguiding’s programme that trains members aged 14 to 25 to empower themselves and others to make a difference in the lives of girls throughout the UK.

Becoming a Peer Educator is about changing the world – one girl at a time.

Our peer educators are aged 14 to 25 who use their own experiences to bring important subjects to life in your unit meetings. Peer educators run fun, safe and challenging sessions which have been developed with expert partners.
The three sessions that can be delivered are:
Think Resilient – Empowers girls with the tools to build a strong mental well-being.
Breaking Free – Empowers girls with the knowledge and confident to challenge gender stereotypes.
Safe the world – Empowers girls with the skills and confidence to speak up and advocate to make a sand for safety.

Interested in a peer educator coming to your unit?

Our Peer Educators can run sessions for any Brownie, Guides and Rangers unit.

The Peer Educator will come prepared to run the whole meeting, although the leaders is still responsible for supporting the session. They will ensure the session is filled with lots of fun activities whilst also learning more about the chose topic.

The Peer Educator will come prepared with any resources they need, although they may ask to use anything you may already have at your unit meeting. Peer Educators are covered for the cost of any resources for your session, so there is no additional cost to your unit.

If you are interested in having a peer educator attend your unit or you want to find out more, please contact our Peer Education Coordinator via email – peered@girlguidingessexne.org.uk
